Meure honored by Pens, Northwood Realty for contribution

Tracy Meure has put in a lot of time with the Meadville Bulldog hockey team and Crawford County Youth Hockey Association over the last decade. On Tuesday, Meure was honored for her contributions.

Meure was selected as a Pittsburgh Penguins/Northwood Realty Services Youth Hockey Mom of the Month for January. Each month, five moms are honored with a prize package that includes a bouquet of roses, four tickets to a Pittsburgh Penguins game, videoboard recognition during the game, a Pittsburgh Penguins prize pack, and recognition on the Hockey Mom wall inside PPG Paints Arena. A $500 donation is also made from Northwood Realty Services.

Meure received her prizes in the company of the Meadville Bulldogs onTuesday at the George S. DeArment Ice Arena. She donated the $500 to the Power Play for Prevention program which she plays a significant part in.

Meure has served as a volunteer board member, officer, PeeWee team manager as well as a PAHL and PIHL representative. She handles all communications among the team and is the facilitator of travel. She also sings the national anthem prior to all home games.

In addition, Meure has extended the fundraising partnership between Meadville Bulldog hockey and the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute.

Meure was one of five moms chosen for the month of January from 135 nominations.

A yearly winner will be selected on March 25. That prize package includes videoboard recognition, a customized Penguins jersey and a $1,000 donation from Northwood Realty Services.
